ASMTP, or Authenticated SMTP, allows you to send messages from your computer without using your regular ISP's email server. This is useful if you are using a laptop in a coffee shop or other public space, and don't want to figure out how to reconfigure your mail program. It's also useful if your ISP does not allow you to send email with a return address that does not point back to them.
Note: This workaround may not always be useful, since your ISP might also block your attempt at the port level. If you have one of these ISPs, please send email to Midas Networks support address so that we can confirm it, and start looking for a new ISP.
If you are adventurous, or know your client software well, you might also try setting the outbound port number to "587," but if they block 25, they probably also block this port.
